Here are some random, but relevant statistics that I’ve collected the past week.
In a recent opinion poll conducted by Investment News of 631 readers which asked, “Do you favor President Obama’s health care plan?” An overwhelming 79% said they did not favor the plan. (Source: Investment News)
To rank in the top 5% of all US taxpayers required an adjusted gross income (AGI) level of at least $160,000 based upon calendar year 2007 tax data. This group earned 37% of all AGI nationwide and paid 61% of all federal income tax in the country. (Source: Internal Revenue Service, Tax Foundation)
27% – The percent of Americans who were optimistic about the economy in the first half of 2009, up from just 13% a year earlier. (Source: Gallup Inc.)
When it comes to health care, 51% fear the Federal government more than private insurance companies. Forty-one percent (41%) hold the opposite view. In the health care debate, 41% view the town hall protesters favorably while 35% have an unfavorable view. (Source: Rasmussen Reports)
45% – The percent of U.S. voters that now give President Obama good or excellent marks on leadership, down three points from last month and down 19 points from when he took office in January. (Source: Rasmussen Reports)
