Fewer Americans Believe In Capitalism
Russia Today reports that according to a new survey by Rasmussen Reports, 20% of Americans feel socialism is better than capitalism. Only 53% believe capitalism is better than socialism, while 27% are undecided. Among adults 30 and under, the split is nearly equally divided at 37% for capitalism, 33% socialism, and 30% undecided. The Russia Today link has video of their broadcast, while the Rasmussen Report has more details on their findings.
Republicans favor capitalism by an 11 to 1 ratio, while only 39% of Democrats prefer capitalism. I guess I’m more Reform Party now. Sure things haven’t been great the past few years, but that’s no reason to throw out the entire system and start from scratch. I used to be a Hillary Democrat, so I don’t really like Obama and his policies, especially what he’s done with GM. Maybe it’s Obama’s version of Bush’s Invasion of Iraq. Give him an inch and instead of looking for WMDs, he’s looking to nationalize Corporate America. Mussolini, anyone? Someone emailed me this story of the first time someone heard of Obama back in 1992. I don’t know if it’s true, but it’s an interesting read. Don’t worry, I don’t plan on turning my blog into a political-themed soapbox. I’m done venting.
